Q&A session after the movie.

Get inspired by Earthships and their creator, Michael Reynolds, on his quest to share with the world a concept that can revolutionize green building. Earthships reduce the stress on the planet by not burning any fossil fuels, and they reduce the stress on the owner by not generating any utility bills. Less stress, less pollution, more freedom!

What: Movie screening of Garbage Warrior, followed by Q&A by Earthship Seattle.

When: Thursday December 4th at 7:00 pm

Where: Bannan Auditorium in Bannan Science Building, Seattle University, 901 12th Ave, Seattle,

Earthship Seattle is a group of volunteers who see Earthships as one of the best solutions for a sustainable future. We aim to raise awareness about Earthships in the greater Seattle area, build an Earthship in Seattle for public use and for demonstration purposes, and facilitate the creation of free, happy and healthy off-the-grid eco-villages. Several of our members have attended the Earthship Academy, a 6-week training on building Earthships.

A Taste of Phase 2

A Taste of Phase 2

A Taste of Phase 2

We reached the 11th (and last) course of tires on Sunday Oct 5th.

There’s still some leveling to do to finish the 11th course. Next we will use cob, anchor bolts, and wood to make a bond beam that will run all across the U-shape of the top course of tires.

The last couple of days, we have been doing some prep work for Saturday with the help of Weston and Mandy.

Today I cut the edges of some 15-foot floor boards, sanded them, cut the extra 1 foot or so that we don’t need, and marked the placement of some spacer blocks.
Doing some carpentry, finally, felt really nice and motivating. Phase 2 (the roof) is approaching!
